その夫婦岩にかかる大注連縄（おおしめなわ）を年に３回新しくする
神事があります。
【夫婦岩大注連縄張神事】
先日、9月5日にその神事が執り行われました。
たくさんの参拝者が見守る中、二見太鼓と木遣り（きやり）唄が演奏され
地元の氏子青年たちが直接、海に入りおよそ1時間ほどで5本のしめ縄が張り替えられました。
次回の開催は2023年12月。

８月１日は、ゆかた姿で外宮さんにお参りをして、夏の宵の風情にひたってみませんか？
八朔（はっさく）参宮とは？
八月一日を八朔（はっさく）といいます。伊勢地方ではこの日に、五穀豊穣や無病息災を祈り伊勢神宮に参拝する「八朔参宮」という習わしがありました。また、8月初旬は夏の一番熱い盛りでもあり、暑気払いと心身のリフレッシュの意味も込め、八朔参宮が行われていました。
