Back to school is in full effect over here. Enjoy this video of me waking up in my daughters’ room this morning 🤣. We’ve managed to make it on time for two weeks but this waking up early thing requires discipline and routine which is where mindful practices come in and help to ease the transition from summer. ⁣

Here are five mindful tips to help you adjust your morning routine and ease into the changes:⁣

💭𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Before you even step out of bed, take a few moments to set an intention for your day. It could be as simple as “I will stay focused and productive” or as specific as “I will finish that report by noon.” Setting an intention provides a mental roadmap for the day ahead.⁣

🧘🏽‍♀️𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: Incorporate a short breathing exercise into your morning routine. Spend 2-5 minutes focusing solely on your breath. Inhale deeply through your nose, hold for a few seconds, and exhale through your mouth. This helps clear your mind and prepares you for the day’s challenges.⁣

🥣𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁: Be mindful of what you eat. Opt for a balanced, nutrient-rich breakfast to energize you for the day. Instead of rushing through your meal, sit down and savor each bite, appreciating the textures and flavors.⁣

🕙 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆: As you transition from the summer mode, your to-do list may start to grow. Take a few minutes each morning to jot down your tasks and prioritize them. Being organized can lessen stress and increase productivity.⁣

📖𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹: Before diving into work or school tasks, jot down three things you’re grateful for. Focusing on positive aspects can shift your mindset and help you approach challenges with a more optimistic outlook.⁣

Remember, the key is to be present in each activity, whether it’s brushing your teeth or planning your day. Mindfulness doesn’t mean adding extra tasks to your routine; it means fully engaging in the tasks you’re already doing.
