We are our own worst enemies!
Why?
Because we develop beliefs and stories over our lifetime, most of which were formed during childhood. These beliefs and stories are based on our interpretation of the reality of events, traumas, others and society's expectations, which in turn affects our thoughts, our emotions and therefore our actions and reactions to daily events and triggers.
As much as these beliefs and stories influences our everyday lives, we are most often not aware of what they are, so they get left unchecked, and unchallenged, left to ferment and cause havoc if left unchallenged, leading to unauthentic behaviour, and feelings of lost identity. So, awareness is key.
The more self-aware you become the more you learn about yourself, and what makes you act and react in a certain way. This is a continuous process, and can be truly painful and shocking at times, albeit life-changing. It is like peeling an onion, layer by layer.
Tell yourself continuously that you are safe, and that you are ready to make changes that will benefit your soul and your future.
You are in the process of getting to know, support, and love your new best friend.
