One of the best pieces of advice I see about making YouTube videos is to just start, and that also applies to learning software devlopment. You just need to start. Don’t worry about if you’re choosing the right thing to learn. Just start learning it. Once you feel confident in what you’re doing, then look to see if it’s the right thing.

Last night on stream I learned a few things and made some progress on iHog.
One of the things I learned that blew my mind was that the view modifier aspectRatio() can be used on normal views! So many possibilities now.

Here are some reasons why you should be keeping a journal about your dev work. Whether you're doing it only as a side project or it's your day job.
🥇It helps keep your head clear. You don't have to keep every decision in your head. Your memory is kinda like RAM in a computer. It can only hold on to so many things
🥈You will remember things more. By writing down the fact or storing it somewhere other than your mind, you can actually remember it better.
🥉Creates a reference. Writing down what you did or how you accomplished something will create a reference you can go back to so you don't have to remember why you made that decision or how you did something. It can help you solve a problem faster.

1. Network. Join Facebook groups, developer online happy hours, or just chat with other devs on here.
2. Make sure you have proof. This can be a portfolio, GitHub repo, or LinkedIn. Have something you can show.
3. Learn what makes you happy and stick with it. Don’t try to change what you’re learning based on trends.

If you’re not taking notes, then you should highly consider starting. It will help you remember and understand the topic more and it will give you a reference to go back to if needed. I think note taking is really important in the software developer field because having that reference to go back to is gold. Whether you just started a job or your having an off day, having the notes to remind you of what XYZ does or how to run the app’s tests is amazing.
