Itās the time of year to forage gingko nuts again! A few years ago, I saw an older Chinese auntie and uncle poking a stick at some trees and I asked them what they were doing. They told me they were foraging gingko nuts!
If youāve never eaten gingko nuts before, they have a soft texture and they taste very mildly sweet and a bit bitter. I donāt know if I truly enjoy eating gingko nuts, but I consume them because theyāre supposed to be nutritious š
Donāt go crazy and eat too many gingko nuts at once (as in dozens of them) because they can be slightly toxic in large quantities!

Red bean paste (č±ę²), one of my favorite ingredients in Asian desserts!! My mom usually makes many batches and then freezes the paste for future use.
