This is a poem I started last year and now finished a few days ago. I’m being vulnerable and sharing it with my community here in honor of #latinxheritagemonth and in hopes that this will help someone struggling to connect to their bilingual family or finding their community. I promise, there is a way to connect with your family, regardless of language barriers and your community is waiting to embrace you. Just like ours is here.

Mr Hecho & I renewed our vows in front of our friends and family this weekend. There were so many things I forgot about, like my bouquet and too light the sparkles at the end, but it didn’t matter. Everything was still amazing and I’m so thankful for eneryone that helped bring this day together for us.

@Hecho By Helena some of our favorite market tools are listed in our Amazon storefront, like the clamps that we use on the tables, the nylon cord to hang our sign up with on the tent, and our favorite weight bags to fill with sand and rocks to keep tent from rocking and Corning rack from tipping over. These tools are so helpful in windy days and when you’re placed on uneven ground.

The second worst purchase I’ve ever made for my business.
I tried for 3 months to consistently research a supplier that could sell me the 16 and 20 oz glasses with the bamboo lids and glass straw included. At wholesale price. Not at $7 a bundle. I thought I had finally found my dream supplier but from the moment they told me shipping would be delayed I should have cancelled right there and then.
I knew returns were an option but I had no clue that I had to pay for shipping 🤦🏽♀️
These glasses are 16oz but the measurements of the flat surface are SHORTER than the typical 16 oz designs which meant I had to resize all of the designs I was using.
The glasses are made of special bake safe - high tempered glass material which does NOT allow them to be etched.
Next time I’ll play the waitinf game and wait for a sample to arrive.
Now to have Mr Hecho hit these glasses with a heat gun and remove all of the vinyl from them so that I can put name decals on them instead for the guests at our anniversary party 🙃
Going back to ordering straws, bamboo lids, and glasses separately from 3 different suppliers.

When I started vending, I swore that I needed my entire family to come with me to help me set up and to be at the markets with me. My poor husband would get dragged out of bed in his days off, my sister would take off of work, my mom would have to stop cooking in the middle of the day, my tia would drive from NJ - all to help me setup, sell, and pack up 😅
I ran into my friend from high school @HR Crafting at a winter market and she told me she pops the tent up all by herself. Does if all by herself a majority of the time. When I asked her how she said she practices! 🤯😅🤭
So that following spring I practiced in my yard, I started playing around with my table displays too while I was at it and only packed what I already knew I was going to use.
My little blue laundry cart used to be my ride or die but after doing my first night market I knew I had to finally upgrade for an extra long wagon.
I’m a woman, I’m plus size, and I’m telling you if I can do it alone so can you! Don’t let notning hold you back, just invest in a few tools to help along the way 😉

I had so much fun this summer in New York, specifically the Brooklyn area. I can’t wait to go back this upcoming fall after mine & Mr.Hecho’s party anniversary party next month. There were so many great memories made, fun experiences, and new friends made.

When I was crying during the pandrama C-19 trying to finish undergrad, running speech therapy sessions via zoom struggling to support families, and felt like quitting everything my husband told me to make time to do something else at home. I started learning how to use my @Cricut machine that my suegra got me the Christmas year prior and never ever, ever, ever did I think it’d lead me to the experiences I get to have today.
