It's not that I don't know how to spell these words. As a copy editor, it's my job to ensure that the spelling and grammar in a book are as correct and appropriate (which sometimes means "incorrect" grammar isn't corrected) as I can make them. One of the places I trip up the most is knowing when a word is a compound, hyphenated, or actually two words. I'm constantly looking up words I know how to spell just to make sure I'm still spelling or formatting them correctly.
