Rare home video footage of a Hamilton Redbirds game at Bernie Arbour Stadium in 1991.
Thank you to Bill Craib for allowing us to share this footage.
In 1991 Bill Craib and Sue Easler did something no one else had ever done. They went to a game at all 178 major and minor league baseball parks in one season. They drove nearly 54,000 miles and shot home-movie-style video at each stop. The footage was featured on a segment that became known as “Bill & Sue’s Excellent Adventure” on ESPN’s weekly program Major League Baseball Magazine.
In February 2023 Bill Craib published a book about their 1991 journey. “In League With America: The Story of an Excellent Adventure” is now available on Amazon!

We are excited to announce today the signing of pitcher Duncan McLaughlin for the upcoming 2023 season.
McLaughlin, a Dartmouth, Nova Scotia native, joins the Cardinals after coming off his first season with Panola College where he pitched 40 innings and totaled 31 strikeouts while only walking 15 batters.
“I’ll never forget watching Dunc handle Ontario the way he did in the 2019 Canada Cup Gold Medal Game,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “It was the first time I’d seen a Maritimer pitch with arrogance, let alone against a squad with millions of dollars on their roster. To say we’re excited is an understatement.”
McLaughlin previously attended Southeastern Community College in 2021 where he started 9 games for the team while striking out 49 batters. Duncan also played in the U-17 Canada Cup in 2019 and won the Nova Scotia Major Baseball Player of the Year Award.
