This is the oldest Fire Pumper in America. Dating back to 1725, this thing was extinguishing fires 51 years prior to USA becoming a country! It took over 12 people to opporate. One crew would pump the handles up and down, while at the same time the bucket brigade would fill the 80 gallon water reservoir to keep a continuous water flow. This is Rescue Truck 4 from the New York City Fire Department. It responded to the 9-11 attacks on the world trade center in 2001. The crew on Rescue Truck 4 were all verteran firefighters specially trained in many types of advanced recuse techniques and were all specifically chosen to be on this truck.
