Hey ladies! Straightening or elongating your curly hair should be apart of your haircare regimen. Those who avoid all heat styling usually end up with unhealthy hair. It’s true! Some heat is good.
Elongating of your curl pattern will allow your natural sebum to travel down your hair strands and protect them. It will also allow you to see the true condition of your hair, and cut any split ends that need to be cut.

Hey ladies! Having quality products are extremely important. You want to be using products that target and help whatever hair or scalp issue you’re struggling with. BUT having a hair care regimen will take your hair goals to the next level! Here are some basic hair care regimen tips that will get you started…
1. Shampoo every two weeks using my herbal shampoo. Every 3 weeks if you have a protective style in (yes you can shampoo with a protective style).
2. Always follow up with a deep conditioner under a steamer, dryer, heat cap, or plastic cap for 15 minutes. I use my herbal deep conditioner for that.
3. Next, always use a leave-in conditioner to detangle, add moisture, and protection from heat. My herbal hair mist helps with all 3! You want your products to work for you and not against you. Leave-ins help to make the hair more pliable, less likely to break, and easier to manage.
4. Always use a silicone based heat protectant serum. I like the platinum serum by design essentials. A lot of naturals hate silicones for some reason but they can be your best friend. They work very well at protecting your hair and sealing in moisture.
5. Blow your hair dry or style as you desire.
6. Be sure to oil your scalp 2-3 times a week with my herbal growth oil.
And repeat!
- Avoid damaging and tight hair styles
- Avoid chemicals
- Gently handle your hair
- Avoid glue and adhesives
- Keep your ends trimmed quarterly
- Protein treatments every 6 weeks
- Stop letting anybody do your hair!
- And don’t over manipulate your hair
- Stay consistent
It’s really that simple! And your hair will grow. If this helped share with 3 friends. Don’t forget to shop my amazing products. They really are amazing. It’s the ingredients that do what needs to be done 🙌🏽

When was the last time you detoxed your scalp? Our products do this naturally for you. If you have noticed your scalp feeling itchy and/or a burning sensation, this may be signaling scalp issues. Inflammation of follicles, contact dermatitis, and fungal infections can cause the scalp to become irritated.
Many people will experience hair loss or thinning at some point in their lives however, rapid or unusual hair loss may mean your scalp is unhealthy and unable to sustain healthy hair growth. Hair grows from and through follicles which surface on the scalp. If follicles on the scalp are not kept clean, they are unable to generate healthy new hair or keep existing hair in good condition, which can lead to hair thinning and hair loss. Be sure to detox your scalp often, shampoo every 2-3 weeks, and avoid damaging styling practices. High tension hairstyles are one the top reasons for hair loss.
This is why EVERYONE needs to DETOX their scalp! Comment the word “HELP” to shop solutions. @hairbyqsalon

When your hair talks, it’s time to stop and listen. Experiencing hair issues such as thinning, fallout, increased shedding or flaky scalp has a root cause. Stress, hormonal shifts, vitamin deficiencies, lack of sleep and poor circulation are among the factors that can contribute to changes in your hair.
That’s exactly why taking a holistic approach to hair wellness as well as your overall health is so important.
Try incorporating these ten healthy habits into your lifestyle:
1. Practice stress-reducing techniques such as meditation.
2. Maintain a balanced diet.
3. Drink enough water daily.
4. Get enough sleep.
6. Make movement non-negotiable each day. Exercise, take a walk or do yoga. 30 minutes a day minimum!
7. Take a daily hair supplement which include biotin, folic acid, zinc and other beneficial vitamins and minerals.
8. Include self-care as a priority each day.
9. Make a ritual of using our herbal growth products that address the outside issues of the hair/scalp.
10. Openpathcollective.org is a great affordable, virtual therapy solution!
Resetting your routine is a great way to boost your whole-body health, including that of your skin, scalp and hair. Integrating positive lifestyle shifts into your regular routine will encourage long-term, sustainable improvements in your physical and emotional wellness. Click the link in my bio for solutions!

Oh ima talk about it! Lol… I know it takes work, it takes time, it takes money, and it takes patience, but it is worth it! There is no perfect product, stylist, ingredient, or hair style that will reach your hair care goals! It is a combination of many different things called a hair care regimen that will help you. You have to be consistent and stay on a routine to see results. This pertains to hair care AND scalp care.
Here are some basic hair care regimen tips that will get you started…

Morning y’all! Please be patient with your hair growth journey. Everyone’s journey is different but ultimately it’s going to take time. Hair grows slow that’s the reality. But it’s your job to make sure you’re keeping it healthy and retaining length so that it can get longer. If you need help click the link in my bio!
Here are 3 signs that you need a healthy hair care regimen. Having a hair care regimen is vital for hair growth and scalp health. Like with anything else if you don’t have a plan, you’re planning to fail!
1. Your hair has been the same length for years. If your hair has been the same length for years that means you’re not retaining length and need to find out why. Usually it’s lack of routine trims, mechanical damage, or breakage.
2. Your hair is unmanageable. When you’re on a healthy hair care regimen your hair is more manageable and pliable. It is moisturized and hydrated which makes the hair a lot easier to detangle and style.
3. Your hair is dry and lifeless. Dry hair is always a sign that it lacks moisture. A hair care regimen will include routine deep conditioning treatments and plenty of cleansing the hair and scalp. Water is the number one moisturizer and lack of it internally and externally will result in dry, dull, and lifeless hair!
If you’re someone who struggles with staying on a healthy hair care regimen or has no clue where to start, comment the word HELP. I have products and services that can help you 🩷. @hairbyqsalon

Here are 3 fruits/veggies that are high in water content. Yes you can literally eat some of your water intake for the day.
Water is a big deal when it comes to health and hair growth. Here are some ways to make it easier to drink more water. You should be consuming 64+ ounces a day!
Quick tips to up your water intake:
💧 Infuse water with lemon, cucumber, mint, or fruit like raspberries to add some flavor.
💧 Drink a glass of water after every bathroom break. After all, what goes out must come back in!
💧 Like everything else, there’s an app for this. Daily Water Free, for example, helps make tracking your water intake easy.
💧 Use a marked water bottle or filter, this will show you how much water you’ve gone through all day.
💧 Eat your water! Foods like grapefruit, cantaloupe, zucchini, cucumber, and watermelon have a high water content and make for great, healthy snacks.
💧 Use a “one for one rule”. For example, one glass of water for every glass of wine. This could help reduce hangovers too!
💧 If aesthetic is your thing, pick up a water bottle that suits your style.
If this was helpful please share with 3 friends! Don’t forget to shop my plant based, herbal product line to help you on your hair growth journey! @hairbyqsalon

Do you know the benefits of using oil on your hair and scalp?
Oils protect the follicle from surfactants by filling the gap between cuticle cells. Oils have fatty acids that help replace lipids in the hair. These are lost due to chemical treatments, styling, or even pollution.
Massaging the oil into the scalp increases blood circulation which improve hair growth. Applying oil to the scalp may also prevent dandruff.
Follow these steps to give hair oiling a try:
Apply oil on your scalp and massage with fingertips using a circular motion.
Apply the oil on your palms and rub through your hair to seal in moisture or protect from heat.
Your scalp is just like the skin on your entire body. It absorbs whatever is applied to it. Don’t use just any oil. Look for oils that match your scalp needs.
My Herbal Growth Oil is infused with Tea Tree, peppermint, pumpkin seed, rosemary, and so many other amazing hair oils!
The ingredients are all natural and used to target specific hair & scalp needs.
Helps…
* Eliminate dry scalp
* Reduce breakage allowing hair to grow longer
* Tames frizz
* Eases scalp tightness
* Promotes healthy, strong and shiny hair

Dandruff is usually the result of infrequent shampooing, hormonal changes, stress, diet, or the natural fungus on the scalp becoming imbalanced.
A reddish scalp can be caused by a few different problems. Harsh hair products such as bleach, relaxers, and hair color can also cause scalp redness and even produce allergic reactions. If you’re noticing scalp redness, you may be experiencing a reaction to a new product or a recent treatment. However, it may also be caused by something more serious.
