The Gall Peter's projection is better but still inaccurate. It's pretty much impossible to represent the globe in a 2d, 4-cornered map.

it may do that but it wasn't the purpose of the map. the mercator map was invented for navigation. a straight line on the mercator is a straight line

hi, every kind of map is distorted in some way. different maps are used for different things. they either have accurate angles, surfaces or distances>

I’m sorry to say but no maps that are flat and supposed to represent a sphere are accurate. There are simply ways to flat them out and you change it
