I’m turning 35 next week, and this is not where I thought I would be.
Getting married, having kids, buying a home, working 9-5 — I grew up trusting all of those things would fall into place because they were supposed to. What else was life about?
So much more. I’ve learned to love myself, trust muself, travel alone all over the world, take a chance on entrepreneurship, find deep fulfillment in being an aunty and release the need to know where it all goes from here 💛
Life is beautiful and hard. Life is incredible and painful. Life is a gift that sometimes feels like a curse. And in the end I’m grateful for all of it.

So many people, myself included, get married before really knowing themselves. Being single in our mid-30s can feel frightening sometimes, but it’s also liberating.
I often feel gratitude for this freedom. For having a little more time to grow as I please before potentially learning to really grow with another . If at all.
In the meantime, the path I’ve chosen is one of entrepreneurship and frequent travel. How about you?

A little over a year ago my life fell apart in several major ways all. at. once. And it was incredibly painful.
But also, a bit freeing. Because when your life falls apart like that, when so many big things seem to go wrong that are out of your control. There’s nothing you can do but surrender.
The only option in front of me was acceptance. On every front. I did what I needed to do be present for my family in one of the toughest seasons we’ve ever faced.
And I also challenged myself not to go applying for another 9-5. I had finally gotten what I wanted in that regard — a chance to pursue entrepreneurship.
I was lucky to have saved enough of an emergency fund to get me through. And to support my family, I was already living with my parents again at 34.
I paused my travels. And my nomadic lifestyle is still on hold.
But I worked and continue to work on building up my income streams while being here for my family.
I’m thankful for the way the universe called me on my sh*t when I tried to punt quitting. Even though it sucked at the time.
I’m thankful I get to be here for my fam, even though I wish I could change our circumstances.
Just a peek into what life looks like in my messy middle.
