BALD SCIMITAR HORNED ORYX!
But actually itâs not super uncommon for antelope to lose a horn! They are very fragile during the growth process, and again as the antelope reaches older age. They can also become damged on accident or during a sparing session. In that case, our vet staff may elect to remove the horn to save the individual some pain. This doesnât affect the animal in the long term, but unlike a male deer antler, the horns will not grow back.

Lorenzo is a member of the most endangered predator group in North Americaâ Mexican Gray Wolves. With only about 240 wild wolves left in America, and only about 40 in Mexico, Lorenzo is truly wildlife warrior on his way to continue the recovery of his incredible species!

weâve got BIG news! Thatâs right, not one, but TWO giraffe calves have been born here at Fossil Rim! Only a week or so apart, the oldest, named Waffles, was born to experienced mom Snorgie, while the other (as yet unnamed) calf was born to matriarch Nettie!
Weâre thinking of continuing the breakfast themed names this baby season đ§đ„đł Any suggestions?
