Can breathwork reduce stress?😧 Yes, simply by just prolonging your exhales to calm down your body. A bit more complex breathing exercises can put your body in specific kind of states.
Why? One of the things that happen when the stress response kicks in is that our breathing pace changes. If we can be more intentional (in stressful situations and non stressful situations) of how we are breathing and change the cadence of our breath, we can guide the body into a better state of balance and calm.
