When artist Bouke de Vries shared images of his distinctive “memory vessels,” in which broken ceramic wares are put back together inside glass, he received some strong reactions.
In a Q+A, de Vries speaks about these imaginative ceramic sculptures, including how he obtains the shards and fixes them together one fragment at a time.
