Mi relación con la cocina: ‘No me gusta cocinar, pero necesito comer’. Hoy intentaré sobrevivir con la receta de alubias de ajo y romero. Ingredientes: el ajo, la zanahoria, el romero, el aceite de oliva, la sal, la pimienta negra, los tomates en trozos, las alubias y el agua. ¡A ver qué sale! 🍽️😅 #CocinaAventuras #learnspanish #spanishlearning #speakspanish #cantcook
Challenge: Can you say our business name Españolx?
If you can you are well on your way to learning Spanish, because you can say two words:
1. Español-Spanish
2. Equis-The letter X or it can mean "it's whatever"
Why did I choose this name that is so hard to say?
We love a good challenge.
We teach 100% in Spanish, so our name should be in Spanish.
Español literally means Spanish in English.
The X represents communication between two people or paths crossing. We like to think our company brings people together one conversation at a time! Bonus: X is also my favorite letter.

These photos are from a trip to Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido in the province of Aragón in Northern Spain in July of 2019.
We started early in the morning to avoid the summer July heat and were blown away by the views along the way! The Monte Perdido is a gem in the Pyrenees mountain range💎
Some key Spanish vocabulary to describe this hike was:
1. camino-path
2. cascada-waterfall
3. flores amarillas-yellow flowers
4. las vacas-the cows
5. una vista-the view
One Spanish phrase to learn when you are traveling is... ¡Ya llegamos! which means "We're here!" or "We have arrived!" 👏
💡 What is the CV-CV syllable word for a large, wild cat?
__ __ __ __
Hint: It is also a famous sports brand...
This all may seem childish to you, and it is! When you learned phonics in English, it was in Pre-K-2nd Grade, because it is a foundational skill. Learning a new language is going back to the basics. Traveling back in time. So let's have some fun!
If you walk into an elementary classroom in a Spanish speaking country, you will hear phonics practice that sounds like this:
MA ME MI MO MU
PA PE PI PO PU
TA TE Ti TO TU
LA LE LI LO LU
So many words in Spanish have this syllable! It is a consonant/vowel syllable. Look how easy it is to create some CV-CV words in Spanish from the syllables above:
MA-PA, Mapa...map 🗺️
LI-MA, Lima...a lime or the capital of Perú 🇵🇪
TE-LE, Tele...television 📺
It really is the most common syllable in Spanish!
Phonics is huge for speaking Spanish and feelings confident. Yet, it barely gets any attention in US Spanish classrooms.
***If you are a Spanish teacher, teach your students phonics...you will be amazed at how their speaking skills level up!***
Understanding how to pronounce CV Syllables will help you when you stumble across a new word! For example:
PATO
You will know how to pronounce it because it has two CV syllables! PA-TO 🦆
Can you think of more CV-CV words __ __ - __ __ by using the syllables from above?
