This week is National Epilepsy Week and thr theme is #EpilepsyMatters .
To highlight the inportance of the wider public knowing more about epilepsy,we arranged for our media volunteer Cara Martin from Mayo to record this video and speak about her recent breakthrough seizure â when unfortunately, her seizure wasnât recognised by those around her.
It matters that the wider public know that there is more than one type of seizure â and how to respond correctly.

Thank you and well done to Cara - and Ciaran - for sharing their story. We have no doubt that what is said will resonate with many of our followers and the wider public.

This week is Infantile Spasms Awareness Week. Infantile Spasms are a rare but serious type seizure that can present in infants. They can present extremely subtly - as they do in this video of Theo - so they can often be missed or misdiagnosed. The longer the spasms go untreated, the bigger a chance of permanent damage on a childâs developing brain. Head to the link in our bio to learn more about #ISAW2022 and how we can STOP Infantile Spasms.
Weâre trying to share a bit of a subliminal message with this video! Can you guess what it is?! đ€đ
