We've gone to Hearst Castle in San Simeon, CA many times before the pandemic and honestly we spent the time walking around through the crowds of people, picking up a fact or two here and there.
Since the pandemic they have now restricted tours to small groups. I was sceptical at first but honestly enjoyed the experience more than I expected. Learned so much more and got amazing photos since there weren't crowds πΈ The only downside is the tour is about 70 minutes long and when it's done you don't have the opportunity to walk around further.

πTo reach this hidden gem in California, follow Hwy 1 until you reach N. Ocean Avenue. Towards the side of the coast, you'll find a dirt path and a parking lot. From t here, a trail will guide you down to the beach.
β For the best experience go during a sunny day at low tide.
πΈ Recommended for families looking for a fun day trip and wanting to take photos from afar.
π« If you plan on GOING ON the boat - we would NOT recommend this for kids or adults with impaired balance.

@SJFOOS doing God's work! I saw their video scrolling through TikTok yesterday and it so happened we were going to be in San Jose today and decided to stop by Kenny's Cafe
Kenny is the sweetest owner and filled with joy. He shared with us that his business has been booming since the video went viral. He is the only person working at the restaurant, greeting people, cooking, serving and taking the time to take photos with each customer.
Despite the line he spends time with each person. We went on Monday afternoon and there was no line but on weekends he shares service can be an hour wait.
Definitely stop by if you're in the area and have time to spend with this iconic human being.
