I received a snarky and not so glowing book review the other day. Yes it hurt. I felt pretty shook for a few days afterwards and I’ve noticed the part of me thats been feeling more vulnerable and hestitant to share my thoughts, tips and tools here on the interwebs. For me this is an example of how the invalidation of empath’s lived experience and its intersection with RSD meet. Have you ever heard of RSD? So many things made sense after I learned about it. A great reminder from Solovey that self soothing techniques work differently for different people and what works for me may or may ir may not work for you. A simple slow inhale/exhale helps me to self soothe whereas a box breathing technique is better for others. What works for you?
