I’ve had severe performance anxiety on the piano ever since attending four years at a strict music conservatory as a classical pianist. I’m thankful for my time in music school and will always love playing Mozart and Beethoven in the privacy of my own home, BUT there’s just something about the pressure of your entire college degree hanging on your ability to perform to absolute perfection exactly what’s written in the music on a big stage in front of 4 fancy people who are judging you and deciding whether or not you are good enough to stay in the school that really takes the fun out of it 😂 I’ve only recently been able to be ✨creative✨ on the piano again and I owe my friend a big thank you for politely pushing me to play keys in her band. Because it turns out it’s really FUN and not at all traumatic!! Who knew?
