Hi Barbie!
I know I’m not the only one excited for the new Barbie movie…
My 5 year old Barbie fanatic self that had a full on pink sparkly room would have loved the diversity of the barbies out today, a plethora of beautiful people in so many different shades, shapes, sizes and disabilities!
I was itching to create something of my own for Barbie day, so here is what I would design for an over the top, pink on pink, couture gown… would you wear it?

Sadly the video from this shoot was lost, but I did find this little time-lapse from the day.
It shows off the beautiful silk chiffon as it flutters in the breeze, the hidden colour shifting tones that inspired the whole colour scheme of the collection bursting through.

This beautifully beaded black Alencon lace was such a big inspiration for me. The black beads glittering in the light like stars speckled across inky black sky. The night softening the sharp edges of the world, toning down its harsh vivid colours with its mysterious shadows and warm tones.
