You might think your competition are the other folks in town doing what you do - but you're really competing with your customer's life and lifestyle.
What are they doing right now to deal with (read: solve, avoid, or ignore) the problem you want to solve for them? If you don't know, you're messaging is likely going to be falling on deaf ears.
Satisficing, or keeping the status quo because doing something different is a hassle (or risky) is what you're up against - especially when your customer represents a business.
So before you even get to the point of proving you're the right choice, you've got to convince them that the change is truly worth it.
So, who or what is your REAL competition? Let's talk about it.

There's no magic. There's planning and investment. Whether you're spending time or money depends on the size of your team and your budget.
Marketing helps make sales happen. Please do not step to your local marketing professional expecting a profitable ROI next week. (Unless you can invest bookoo bucks like the folks working the Barbie machine.) 🎀
Sales is the process of spurring your customer to take action, ie give you money in exchange for goods or services. 🤑
You need both, but they are separate (yet related) processes. Building a marketing strategy should involve your sales team so that the handoff or self-serve completion of your process is seamless and friction-free.
But none of that matters if you're not speaking to the right audience - or saying the wrong things to them. 🙊
