Hi TikTok Creators/Artists!!
I wanted to raise awareness to a type of scam that some people may not know or be aware of called Overpayment Scams.

I was reached out by a "potential buyer" through Facebook to order a commission of 7 Digital portraits in the style of one of my pieces they saw, for some of their "family."
I agreed to work with her proposed budget, and was commissioned for $100 per digital portrait, total Order $700 USD.
I proposed the payment methods.
This person tried to bypass and say they use Binance, and get me to use Binance (USDT/Tether) first.
I told them I don't use Binance at this time, and people in the US don't have access to Binance due to their IP address and is geolocked by my location. US users have to use Binance US. (See last screenshot)
(Geeky Tech Tip: The only way to bypass this is if you use some sort of proxy/VPN that spoofs (masks) your true IP/location with a virtual or other physical address - which I'm not advocating to do; but just showing that it is entirely possible.)

We agreed on PayPal.
Note on PayPal:
Verified PayPal users do not have a Receiving Limit, which is something I had to check when this scammer tried to tell me about this "mystery email."
Chances are, it'll look like it's from PayPal but end up in your Spam if the scammer is trying to get you to transact through PayPal.

Unfortunately, this happens way too common to artists through the guise of "Art Commissions." I was just another target today.
While this is the first one I have had of this kind, this would be over double digits times I've been the target of a scam since promoting my art and Shopify store.
The other types of scammers are commonly "Shopify Experts on Fiverr," so beware of them too for any new Shopify Store Owners or Website creators.
As soon as I noticed it was a scam and called them out, they stopped responding and blocked me on Messenger. I took some of the screenshots after they blocked me.

You can imagine the frustration of not getting legitimate business, pay or art and accounts potentially stolen or put at risk; or the impact that has on both my business and my personal life or ability to take care of myself, children, friends, family or my customers.
It's scams like these that truly do everyone a disservice, and it is my privilege to call it out and raise awareness so that others do not get scammed, whether you are newer or experienced artists, creators or business owners.

With that being said, I and others artists could really use your help with sharing the word, prevent others from being scammed, but also send legitimate business or customers my/our way.

Wounded the god, exposed his earthly snare.
In pain and fury, Ares felt the sting,
A reminder that even gods could feel a mortal's swing.
Though mighty and fierce, vulnerability he knew,
A lesson learned amidst the battles he'd brew.
In love and war, his passions ran high,
Aphrodite's embrace, beneath the sky.
Entangled affairs, the gods did entwine,
Adding intrigue to Ares's martial design.
Thus, in myth and tale, Ares stood bold,
A deity of war, both feared and extolled.
His legend endures, a complex sight,
Reflecting war's chaos and valor's light.

Are you having issues with updating to current version 11 from an older version, unless you know how to edit Settings and JSON files, or have money for a Shopify Expert - you may have to Re-Download by Adding Theme from the Theme Store, and import whatever changes manually to the newly downloaded theme.
