People with rejection sensitivity experience intense emotional reactions to perceived rejection or criticism from others. Those of us with rejection sensitivity often feel we are being rejected, even in situations where we really arenāt. We tend to have an extreme emotional reaction to real or perceived slights. As you can imagine, this can cause major issues with all sorts of relationships. Rejection sensitivity can occur in people without mental health issues, but is probably most commonly associated with conditions like ADHD and borderline personality disorder. If you need help with this, check out the membership program āThe Squirrelās Guide to Overwhelmā in my LinkTree, where we talk in more depth about rejection sensitivity and how you can overcome it. I also have a blog article on the topic on my website, and, as always, we will keep talking about it here too! #rejectionsensitivedysphoria #rejection #adhdtiktok #adhd

Many people with ADHD rely heavily on their anxiety to get through life. When we arenāt super interested in something (like school or work) we sometimes have to get through it by making it more emotionally salient. In other words, we must create strong (often negative) emotions to keep us interested. This is why we may struggle to complete a task until itās nearing the deadline: we rely on the anxiety created by that sense of urgency to keep us interested in an otherwise boring task. Oftentimes the most effective means of treatment is to address ADHD and anxiety simultaneously. This can be through therapy, medications, lifestyle changes, and other treatments. ADHD coaching can also be very helpful in these circumstances.
This intersection between anxiety and ADHD is exactly what we are focused on in the Squirrelās Guide to Overwhelm Course.

#stitch with @Dr. Siyab, MD | Heart doc to summarize my rant: yes, there are things you can do to help your depression. But sometimes depression makes it impossible to do those things, and sometimes even if you can do them itās not enough. Donāt let these sort of tweets shame you into thinking the depression is your fault if youāre not able to do some of the ānaturalā things that can help improve your mood. #depressionanxiety #depressionawareness
