I root them in water. They can live in water
I often do to but I have better luck with sphagnum moss when it comes to variegated monsteras
I thought the plastic wrap was a duck or goose pot 😅.

typically I suggest wetting the moss a smidge more and waiting until you can see them through the plastic for air layering
