1. Book resort and room rates early. During an initial complimentary consultation with a couple our biggest piece of advice is go to ahead and get all wedding date, resort and room blocks booked so you can have exactly who you want on your day. The right destination and resort are one of the biggest parts of your day. Don’t leave these tasks for the end of your list.
2. Get a destination wedding travel agent planner - you will thank yourself for this later. Destination wedding travel agent planners are helpful in so many ways, but mostly will take a lot of the pre-planning off your plate and help with booking all travel for your guests. As wedding planners, we like to join in on the planning as soon as possible so the earlier the better. We hate seeing couples and guest confused on what is going on.
3. Keep your guest count in check - your guest count will ultimately control your budget. A larger guest count means more tables, more decor, more food, and the list keeps growing. Creating a draft guest list at the very beginning of planning is really helpful because you can use those numbers to determine your ideal budget.
4. Create a wedding website - a wedding website is the easiest place for your guests to find information about your event. For this reason we take the time to put together a website with helpful information will have you thanking your past self when people are not texting you with small questions leading up to your event.
