After a year of planning and preparing, we finally made it to Tanzania to establish the Logan Doseck DDS, Dental Clinics! We left knowing we established some of the best dental clinics in all of Tanzania, but that we also left a piece of our hearts with the people. We can’t wait to get back next year and continue working on leaving a legacy of smiles.#PepsiApplePieChallenge

It’s our hope that every year we come back we can do more and more procedures. We are working on being able to make artificial teeth on our next journey, but we need your help!

Artificial teeth help provide stability by preventing shifting. When shifting occurs the alignment of teeth is affected which can cause problems like decaying teeth, losing teeth, gum disease, and altering chewing & speaking.

We are only able to make these journeys and provide much-needed dental care with your support.

Doctor Mpanda Makenzi Hollela is the head doctor at the Malongwe Dispensary. We loved working with him while we were there. He would hold patients hands and comfort them during procedures. The love he had for his community was so apparent. We can’t wait to come back and work alongside our friend again!

The doctors learned some key phrases in Swahili to help communicate with patients. They found out that they had accidentally been telling patients to close their mouths while demonstrating open with their hands haha. We are grateful for all of our translators and the medical staff that helped us communicate with patients and give us clarification when we needed it.

Rural regions of Tanzania average 400,000 people per 1 dentist. In comparison, in the US it’s about 1,650 people per 1 dentist. When you support our cause you are helping amazing people like Binti Said get the dental care they need and lowering that statistic!
