the author community especially BIPOC have largely (not completely ofc but not to the same degree as before) stopped calling people out for horrible stuff like this bc it caused so many issues and problems for us but I'm so sick of books by marginalized creators being ignored by the algorithm all while authors actively spreading misinformation and literally stealing the work of others for their own gain benefit by being shameless. I'll tell you one thing, having a network of support is so important in this industry and if you treat others so carelessly you are missing out on one of the best parts of being an author: community. ty to the readers and other authors who actually care about equity in publishing and don't just pretend to be progressive
