This fluid pump might just be more useless than any other in existence. It is a rather interesting proof of concept though, and this is almost exactly how windmills are able to pump water from the ground.

Shift registers are great for getting many outputs from a limited number of inputs. By doing so, I can control these 11 LEDs with only 3 data lines!
Since people were asking, I put a link to these ICs in my bio. 🥳

For those who are new here, I am the original windmill dork. It is my mission to unite the windmill dorks on social media.
Nautilus is my twenty-fifth windmill design. I publish all designs for free, but they are available early to those who support my efforts on Patreon.
I was experimenting for a while with manufactured propellers as turbines. What I learned is that manufactured propellers get heavy quickly with size, and most are designed to operate at RPMs much higher than what I need for my generators. Whereas large-scale wind turbines are all about efficiency, small-scale wind turbines are all about cost and wind-collecting surface area.
To that effect, Nautilus has seven 100x200mm blades, for a total of roughly 140cm^2 of surface area, held at a 10 degree pitch. The pitch may be a little low for this moment of inertia, but I did enjoy seeing how long it took to stop spinning, I just worry about it being damaged by gusts.
I have electronics on the way that should greatly increase the efficiency. Going to start posting more often. Thanks for all the support! Send me pictures of your windmills!
