The short (correct) answer is: that awkward dangley thing hanging down just behind the "chin". Also known as a "bell" in moose, it is found on both males and femes but is larger on males - and, some say, on younger than older males.
But what's it FOR? Well, no one seems to know for sure. In other species, dewlaps can be used for heat exchange. I read in one place that moose dewlaps can freeze and break off in winter! And in other species, males use them for territorial or sexual displays. But they are largest on the young males - compensating for something?
Perhaps some moose biologists out there can give us the real scoop?

This year we have a bumper crop pf wolverine videos - as you will see in the months to come. I think we happen to have had a wolverine that particularly liked this area. They have huge territories (300-600 km²) but that doesn't mean they don't have favored routes within the larger area. Maybe this one is re-visiting a moose carcass - maybe even the one killed in the previous video series.
I find it interesting that so many mammals use the same trees for scent marking. This is a bear-rubbing tree but wolverines will often hop up and and their own aroma to the mix

Casual winter stroll. For at least the nexr several months now all of the videos will be brand new.
At this time of year (mid November), the bears are getting close to their long winter sleep. They are trying to fatten up on any remaining salmon or dead animals. But that doesn't mean they can't squeeze in little time to smell the signs along the way. This tree is a bear rubbing tree on which many animals place their scent as a signal to others.

ROUND WOLVES – after pigging out for 12 hours, the wolves are starting to head back the way they came. They seem much less cohesive now and, in fact, these two seem to be starting back wondering if their buddies are going to follow. One can only imagine that the urgency to stay together as a pack declines when everyone is stuffed.
Why are they so freaking round? In some cases, wolves eat really quickly because they are afraid their kill will be taken over by something else – maybe a grizzly. The grizzlies are all asleep now though. Perhaps a wolverine could also be annoying, but they aren’t super common (although see more videos later). My brother, Mike, suggested that it could be the temperature. It is damn hard to eat frozen meat and so maybe they need to eat what they can before it is too late.
The full sequence is now up on YouTube (channel link in profile) https://youtu.be/mOq1_W9N5fk

Old One-Eye's Moose Hunt 7. This is an important clip as it is the last one of the wolves (we will next switch to the moose coming toward the wolves) for the next 19 minutes – until contact, that is. The reason is that I don’t have any camera traps for the next 1.8 km of the trail. At this point, the pack is still rather chill; and, in fact, this is a favorite highway rest-stop, so to speak. In many years, the wolves hang out here, scent marking and interacting. Like people, wolves seem to use and remember these rallying points on their journeys.
Now it will be time to see what the moose are up to as we countdown from 19 min to 0 min.

Old One-Eye's Moose Hunt 6. This video seems a good place to point out that these wolves, although on the hunt here, have clearly been successful recently. They are not by any means thin. Of course, it is winter and so their hair will make them look well-fed, but you can see a bit of rounding on their bellies.
I feel like this hunt is kind of relaxed partly for that reason. I am guessing they have taken a few days off from their last kill and are now just ramping up for the next meal. No hurry or desperation here.

Old One-Eye's Moose Hunt 5. Old One-Eye is actually second in line in these last few videos. The camera traps are dormant until they sense infra-red moving across the sensor array – in this case the warm body of a wolf. But it takes a second or more to turn on and so the video often captures the second animal to pass.
Again (as in video 4), the last wolf – a female I think – takes a different track than the rest of the wolves. Wolves – just like people – have personalities: is this part of hers? Does she just march to the beat of a different drummer so to speak?
You will probably have noticed that the times and distances “to contact” with the moose are very similar in these last few videos. The reason is that these camera traps are all very close to each other and were originally set up to monitor a series of splits in the trails.
