Jewelry made from the rare flatware pattern, Love aka Precious Flower from 1970. This pattern was produced for less than one year, in both silver-plate and the ULTRA RARE gold electroplated stainless steel. Many collectors don't even know that it was ever made in the gold version! Only a few sets of each were ever made, and they are incredibly hard to find but highly coveted. 🚨 Take those rubber bands off of your silverware NOW. I know they are a super convenient way to organize … but rubber contains sulphur. And sulphur chemically reacts with silver to tarnish it. However, rubber band marks are not as easy to remove as regular tarnish. Often you will have to use a higher abrasive cleaner to remove it, which may devalue your pieces by removing silver as well. Rubber can also disintegrate over time, leaving a sticky residue. I really couldn’t figure this issue out, and I only noticed exactly what I was doing during last night’s stamping session. Metal stamps & other tools are oiled to protect them from rust, and here I’ve been smushing oil into every single shirt and sweater I own. Awesome.
