Lawerence Jones died Jan. 4th at Staton Correctional Facility, in Elmore, AL. He went to the infirmary with his CC being a headache. He was given an IV at which he was sent back to his dormitory with it still in his arm. That is direct medical negligence. He then lied down to never wake-up again. This was a 48 yr old healthy man. With no prior health issues. He was pronounced brain dead at the hospital. His cause of death was determined to be a stroke. Mr. Jones had lumps on his head and body in direct correlation with a beaten. Mr. Jones life was taken away from him and cut short from his family way to soon at the hands of a corrupt system that is supposed to rehabilitate, reform, restore, and revive life into those that need a boost in life. Not murder, treat like slaves, fail to protect, treat inhumanely, and simply warehouse on top of each other. It’s time we as families, citizens, and God fearing people stand up for those who are being oppressed by a system that is driven by profit, hatred, and revenge. #standup #speakup #getinvolved #fightforouryouth #DismantleADOC #breakeverychainrally #breakeverychain #bothsidesofthewall Justice4LawerenceJones
What we are facing in the Alabama Dept of Corrections is a human rights issue as incarcerated citizens in their facilities are treated as expendable cattle. How can we uphold justice if we do not stand against it? To our friends and families on both sides of the wall know that we stand with you through the storm no matter how rough because we have each other to see it through. #inmatesoftiktok #ADOC #breakeverychainrally #advocacy #equality
Today was the Break Every Chain Rally and I am so proud of everyone who contributed on both sides of the wall to support those fighting for their rights within the ADOC. Our loved ones on the inside do not deserve to deal with the callous disregard the ADOC dishes out when in the end they are still human, when in the end we are all human responsible to each other. Rehabilitation not Retaliation. #bothsidesofthewall #ADOC #breakeverychainrally #solidarity #equality #prisonslavelabor #equality #protest
On September 26th 2022 the incarcerated citizens of the Alabama Department of Corrections went on strike in peaceful protest of the inhumane treatment and abuse of their rights. To effect change they have put a hold on the industry that forces them to work endlessly for a pauper’s reward, to work endlessly in hazardous conditions, to work endlessly for a system that sees them as less than human. Please come out to support our cause October 14th at the Alabama State Capital as we rally for our friends and family on the other side of the wall. #breakeverychainrally #activism #protest #ADOC
