As a proud graduate of Lahainaluna High School and someone who has called Lahaina home for several years, I am deeply saddened by the devastating fires that have impacted our beloved community. We have not only lost friends and loved ones but also a significant part of our Hawaiian cultural heritage.
Lahaina holds a special place in the hearts of thousands of people who have called it home, and it is also recognized as an important historic area on the National Registry of Historic Places. However, amidst this crisis, we need support from all corners to help rebuild our community.
I believe that McDonald's, as one of the largest fast-food chains in the world with a strong presence in Hawaii, can play a vital role in assisting us during these challenging times. Therefore, I kindly request McDonald's to offer Spam Breakfast platters nationwide and donate a portion of proceeds towards aiding the crisis on Maui.
Spam is an iconic food item that holds great significance for both locals and visitors alike in Hawaii. It has become an integral part of Hawaiian cuisine over the years due to its unique history on the islands. By introducing Spam Breakfast platters across their restaurants nationwide, McDonald's would not only cater to customers' preferences but also honor our culture.
