Explaining boundaries to kids is hard!! I love this metaphor i learned from Rosalinf Wiseman, author kd Queen Bees and Wannabees, its from her program “Cultures of Dignity”, you can get her Tiny Guides from that site. This is from Tiny Guides to Boundaries.
Think of your boundary pike a window, you open it when you like how things are outside, and if it changes like it starts raining or it’s smelly, you close the window. The weather is still going to do what it’s doing but youbare no longer letting it impact you and your environment. The weather doesn’t stop raining just because you closed the window. The other person is still going to do what they do, you just have your boundary on how you are not letting it impact you. #playtherapy #childcounselling #childcounselor #socialemotionallearning #boundarysetting
