Ok I’m trying this running short thing again. The first few times I wasn’t quite there but guys, I think this is it!
I love running shorts bc they’re flowy and usually comfy, but here are my problems:
❌ inner panties give me inner thigh rashes
❌ restrictive fabric is too tight for plies
❌ too open so it’s flash city, USA

Here I am getting ready in the hotel room for my first time speaking at SXSW in Austin! I love doing panels especially about business, entrepreneurship, and my journey as a creator (it’s been since 2009, can you believe!?) so these are always fun. I love a deep, focused conversation with people who know what they’re talking about.
My jumpsuit is from Free People and my makeup is honestly from all over the place. I don’t really have any loyalty towards any makeup brand but here are 2 standouts that have been bought on repeat:

“Don’t you guys get sick of each other?”
This is a question a lot of couples trying to work together ask us. And I get it - we live together, we work together, we literally DO EVERYTHING together, so it’s a fair question.
Sam and I have been together for 14.5 years and yes, like any other couple, we debate, we question each other, and we get on each other’s cases hard, but what we’re really good at is knowing when it’s time to stop. These “fights” usually end with one of us looking at the other, holding back a smile while trying to act tough, and saying “k we good?” And then the other will go “k, over.”
In complete transparency, these “fights” are usually work related (not really personal stuff) and only happen because we’re experiencing emotional distress around a new difficulty with the business. But, these fights never last long (5-10 min) because Sam and I know and respect one another’s realm of expertise. Once we let ego and emotion subside, we’re all solutions based - like it doesn’t matter who is right or wrong , it only matters how we can solve the problem.
This won’t be easy or natural for everyone bc different humans process emotions differently, but this is what works for us and has kept our husband and wife relationship AND our business relationship strong (and exciting) all these years.
Now…in the case of this video…
The truck going missing thing had just happened that morning so we were both NOT in a good mood. But then, I had an idea, I wanted to film it, and bc Sam knows how important it is for me process my feelings through content creation (writing, editing etc) he agreed to the video idea (albeit begrudgingly but still).
These are some of the special outtakes from the 8 minute “dance rehearsal” that made me laugh so hard I literally cried while gasping for air 🥹 You can tell how much he just looooooooooooves dancing, can’t you??
Oh ya, so the answer to that question? No. No we don’t get sick of each other bc we’re never bored of each other!
Thank you Sam for allowing me to share this with you guys. I had to negotiate for 2 days so you better like it.

Ok but for real though. The past couple weeks have been extremely challenging for me, and then just when I think I’m about to break, we get notified that a REALLY important shipment full of @popflexactive Sloane Totes (yes, THOSE totes you’ve been waiting to restock) was stolen and now the truck has gone missing.
…
Like, is this for real?? Is the truck driver okay? Is he/she missing too? Or is it just the cargo? Did the truck driver run away with the goods and now we’re gonna see my babies popping up on eBay or Amazon!?
Honestly, my heart and body went numb when I heard the news because as a small business owner, every single unit counts. That’s a huge punch in the gut - not only in terms of loss of inventory and loss of sales, but now, a lot of people will be upset and frustrated that they can’t get something they’ve been waiting for for so long, and may very likely buy elsewhere. So, we lose the opportunity to build a customer relationship.
But what I can do? Complaining won’t help. All I can say is…
’tis life. 🤷🏻♀️
Sam and I looked at each other, shook our heads, and honestly, there was no time to feel sorry for ourselves. We quickly went into our next meetings, smiled through our reality, and continued on “business as usual”.
I have no idea if we’ll ever see those bags again or if the shipping company will ever refund us (we filed a claim but they said it will take up to 1 year to get any type of compensation, that is, if it even gets approved by them) - so yah. Life isn’t perfect, or fair, it’s just a game with lots of obstacles.
I cherish every day that I get to live the life of an entrepreneur and the immense freedom that comes with it, but there’s no one protecting you or looking out for you. So when stuff like this happens, you’re on your own.
Anyway! Sam and I made ANOTHER reorder so hopefully the reorder of the reorder of the Sloane Totes will arrive in a few months (if we’re lucky). If you’ve been waiting, I’m sorry for the extra long wait, but if you could hold out for another few months that would mean everything to us!

Why do some leggings get so linty and some do not? Dont blame the 🐕 🐈 shedding…you need to know what fabric your leggings are made of!
Do you know if your leggings are brushed or non brushed?
A) BRUSHED
I love brushed leggings bc they are soooo soft (almost velvety) to the touch thanks to the little fibers that stick out. Fun fact: the manufacturing process of brushed fabric is similar to what I showed you in the video: I took a nail file to cause abrasion to the surface of a smooth fabric to get the brushed texture. As a result, “worn down” fabric feels super soft against your skin, but the little hairs that stick out do 2 things: 1) It gives it that soft feel but 2) it makes the surface attract lint! (Think low level Velcro)
B) NON-BRUSHED
Basically it’s the untouched fabric that’s smooth (no abrasion to the surface). It feels silkier/more slick against your skin, which also means lint will slip away because there’s nothing to grab onto.
You guys have been asking for “anti pet hair” leggings for a while now, so I’m giving it a shot, but my way. I’m not ready to let go of brushed because the hand feel is too good. Sooooo when creating your anti pet hair leggings I:
- INSIDE: kept the brushed fabric on the inside for your skin
- OUTSIDE: put the slick fabric on the outside to help resist lint and pet hair
I applied this to our 3 most popular waistbands!
1) Supersculpt - This is your standard high rise legging - solid for all body shapes and should stay up securely for your high impact activities.
2) Crisscross hourglass - The V helps dramatize that ⏳ shape. Those with an hourglass body or straight body will love these for high impact activities as well! If you’re more of an apple shape, this particular waistband may not be as suppprtive as Supersculpt.
3) Cargo - High waisted, but adjustable drawstring! So if you have more of a pear shape (small waist big booty) and leggings usually gape at the back on you, try these!

Today, pickleball made me cry.
Growing up my childhood was all about academics and tennis tennis tennis. My dad was a USTA coach and I trained so much I hated it. Sure he taught me beautiful form + technique, but I never learned how to have fun. Even though it’s been years since I’ve stopped competing, I can still hear the yelling anytime I step on a court and my ball hits the net or goes out.
Winning was winning. But losing wasn’t losing. It was failing. Failing my coach, my dad, my team, and myself.
I cold turkey stopped playing tennis after HS because mentally, it gave me too much anxiety. Plus physically, I couldn’t play like I used to anymore. I had badly injured my wrist my sophomore season. My career on the court was over.
But today, many many lifetimes later - something in me asked to try something new.
It asked to try pickleball. Same-ish concept as tennis but smaller racquet, smaller court, and lighter ball.
At first, I was getting so frustrated at my timing bc the ball was bouncing differently and I was literally missing the ball and swinging at air! I kept yelling at myself the same way my coaches used to.
Later that night, Sam asked if I wanted to play a game and my immediate response was “absolutely not because it will ruin our relationship.”
Wow.
For the next 2 hrs we peeled the onion and man, there is a lot of trauma I need to work thru.
When Sam was asking me to play, he thought it would be a fun game.
But what I HEARD was he wanted to beat me. And if he beat me, it would mean me losing. And me losing, means me failing. And me failing means me being worthless. And worthless was how I felt anytime I lost a game.
Then he said something that brought me to tears. He said “You need to learn how to lose.”
When I heard that, I realized, omg. I had never been told it’s ok to fail. I’ve only ever been coached how to win, never how to lose…without losing my self worth. I started crying.
I’ll always be grateful for my dad and my tennis journey but today I need begin undoing my past in order to move forward.

I honestly cannot function when I’m cold. And no it’s not bc I’m wearing shorts (bad decision on my part for filming in shorts, I had just come back from a run) - I’m cold in leggings and pants too! I’m just that one person who’s always cold. I’m a cold girl.
Like for real, I wrap myself in blankets and walk around the house. And ya I could turn on the heater but my Asian immigrant parents have trained me to live in layers bc at all costs, we must never use the heater 🥶

Look, I grew up only shopping at Marshalls and Ross in the clearance section. Got accessories and cleaning supplies at the 99 cents store. We never ate out. McDonald’s was a luxury and Food4Less and Chinatown was where we got food. So when I hear you talking about making things cheaper - I GET IT. Trust me.
I really struggle with making things cheaper without making the quality cheaper too. Ya feel? There’s a point I just won’t go past because for me, quality matters most. There are some things I can sacrifice but I’ll never sacrifice your experience - I want you and whatever I design to be with each other for as long as possible!
If you remember, I released the first ever Blogilates gym bag into a small number of Targets last year as a test…to see how you guys would respond. I was nervous, but they ended up selling out real quick! So Target decided that it was time to launch them in all stores! 🥳 I am so happy because now you guys can go in, touch it, feel it, and most importantly - get your hands on my gym bag designs without having to spend $195.
Now to be clear, these are 2 very different bags, however, the intention is the same! I kept the same shape and symmetry but switched up the neoprene for a lighter weight fabric. I also kept all the things you loved about the @popflexactive one:

PS: These days Sam and I still drive around trying to find free parking instead of valet, I still check the prices on everything, and when Chipotle asks if I want guac and that it is extra, I still think about the $2, but the diff is now I can say yes!
