Our pre-intermediate LEGO robotics students have been learning about alternative uses of the distance sensor and have been using it to design and program a road racer game. The idea is to use their controller to avoid the dark patches for as long as possible, racking up points the longer they manage to avoid the spots. It was great fun! I want a remote controlled crocodile. And make it snappy! First week back and the intermediate Powered Up class were working with the City Hub and different motor types to create remote controlled crocodiles with snapping jaws and wagging tails. Starting this year, all intermediate classes are 90 minutes long. "We got so much done. I love that we get a little longer to work through the harder problems" was the feedback from one student this week.
