đ Tomorrow, Sunday, March 5th, 2-5pm! đ Itâs supposed to be a beautiful sunny âïž 70 degree day, and we are going to pull the stage pole out and bring back Pole In The Park at the Overton Park Greensward (the big lawn near the old College of Art building and the dog park.) Free and open to all!
The state of TN just passed one of the most restrictive laws in the nation, vaguely outlawing âprurientâ or sexual displays by adult, cabaret and drag performers in public areas that could be seen by anyone under 18. This goes into law April 1st.
Will this affect the pole community? Itâs impossible to know how this law will be enforced or what the effects will be. Will we be able to pole in the park in the future? This is a semi-annual event weâve all enjoyed. It is absolutely family friendly - we expect everyone to play cleanly and nicely, and we always have. The pole is just a piece of metal, and can be used in a variety of ways. In the park, itâs no different that an outdoor calisthenics bar setup. Our athletes can perform amazing skills, and our instructors love sharing their knowledge and passion with you.
