There’s There’s so much negative traffic surrounding unmedicated labors. The majority of the time when it is brought up, it’s is met with negative perspectives and comments that aren’t beneficial to anyone involved. Yes, it’s probably the most intense thing you will ever do in your life. But did you die tho? There are ways to “take the edge off” labor discomfort and help you cope with being uncomfortable. If more people knew there options when it comes to coping with pain, the perspective of unmedicated childbirth would shift drastically. Being forced to lay in a hospital bed with bright lights on isn’t going to help you cope with labor. Your partner sleeping on the couch isn’t either. Having a natural/unmedicated takes preparation, a solid and knowledgeable birth team and a confidence in one’s ability to cope and surrender to the process. In other words, you just gotta get through it, and it’s over.
