Most of us don’t learn how to regulate our emotions. And if you’ve struggled with a difficult childhood, you definitely didn’t learn healthy coping skills.
This leads to overwhelm, frustration, anger, and intense emotional outbursts as a mom.
Then you feel immense shame and regret for being such an angry mom!
You are not a bad mom, you just haven’t learned to cope with difficult emotions in a healthy way!
Emotional regulation is a learned skill! You can learn emotional regulation and teach it to your children.

What is your body asking for today?
I needed extra rest and I re-arranged my schedule to do that. No guilt and no shame. At that time of the month, my endometriosis symptoms flare up which leads to all my other symptoms flaring up.
I use to force myself to push through…. It always made things worse.
Because ultimately, if we’re not listening to our bodies, we can’t take care of those around us. This is so true especially for moms that suffer from chronic illness and chronic pain which is incredibly common and survivors of childhood trauma.
The irony is that trauma has done a number on our body and it’s left an imprint mentally that we don’t deserve rest.
listening to your body, is such an important part of breaking generational, trauma and understanding how it shows up in your life. Often times the physical pain that you feel is the manifestation of the emotional and mental pain that you’re feeling.
Have Grace with yourself and as best you can rest when you need it. Ask for help, ask for space, and take care of yourself.
