Can we be real with y’all for a min? We initially started writing Makin’ Moves to be an anthem of perseverance and unity coming out of a time when the world had seemed to flip upside down, and we were honestly unsure if this band would even be able to continue existing. It’s no secret that the past 3 years have been pretty tough on most of us, and that it’s been a slow build back to now. So much struggle, so much loss, so much division… We've been in the thick of it both as a band, and as individuals.
To this day we’re still dealing with many of the setbacks and losses we came up against during that time, BUT, as we penned in this verse, “a hope inside survives.” …we’ve found that hope in our faith, our family, friends, communities, and in all kinds of good happening around our world in spite of the struggles and pain.
So what’s given you hope lately? What’s makin’ you move towards love, unity, and joy in your life right now?
We hope this song fuels the fire in you (like it’s done for us) to continue persevering and coming together despite whatever setbacks come our way!
