This year, we welcomed dozens of patients, survivors and siblings back for the *ultimate* camp experience!
We jumped rope, cooked up a storm, got to meet zoo animals, played with robots and legos, made art, explored the community andâmost importantlyâformed friendships that will last a lifetime. đđ
Our hearts are overflowing with joy thinking back on the treasure trove of memories we created with our kids. 𼰠We want to give a BIG shout-out to all of the amazing special guests who came to visit, and to the volunteers and teen helpers who gave their all throughout these last three months to make this the best year of summer camp yet.
Lastly, we want to thank our amazing supporters who donated to the cause and helped make this camp experience possible. Your ongoing commitment to our childhood cancer families is the foundation that makes programs like camp go from great to absolutely â¨amazing! â¨THANK YOU for #MakingLifeBetter ! đď¸

Extreme Makeover: ASK Oncology/Hematology Clinic Edition đ¨đĽđď¸
This tiktok may only be 27 seconds, but this reveal was more than 16 months in the making! And it was definitely worth the wait đ
Our clinic underwent some changes during the construction of The Childrenâs Hospital of Richmond at VCUâs amazing new Childrenâs Tower, one of which removed outward facing windows. So, we got creative with a vibrant mural, placed where the windows used to be, to brings the outside IN! It features all the creatures we know and love from the James River ecosystem, many of which can be spotted around the hospital (including Floor 12âs mascot, the turtle!) đ˘
We also wanted to create a consistent ASK experience for families between the clinic and our office. Thatâs why we incorporated our anthem âDonât Stop Believinââ and logo onto murals and signage on surrounding walls, inspiring the same familiar and welcoming vibes we aim to inspire at the ASK Family Center.
Kids and families will spend lots of time in this waiting room with Miss Katie, our Child Life Specialist, as they hold out for their appointments and tests. And while we canât make their cancer go away, we hope to make their treatment experience a little easier, much less scary, and whole lot more FUN! đ
