This Tire Pressure Monitoring System or TPMS allows us to monitor the pressure and temperature of all tires on the RV and truck in real-time and alerts us if there are any issues.
Considering we’re moving 30 thousand pounds at 65 miles per hour, a blowout could not only be dangerous to us and everyone around us, but it could also cause serious damage to our equipment.
So being able to watch for temperature spikes or pressure losses in real-time allows us to quickly pull over and take care of any issues BEFORE we have an actual explosion.

This is what happens when your weight distribution is off.
This was taken after filling our front tanks with 1000lbs of fresh water and then unloading our 2600lb Fiat from the rear garage.
Riding unlevel like this, with too much weight in the front, is a surefire way to damage your RV’s frame, overload your truck, and prematurely wear out your trailer tires and suspension.
Our toy hauler is engineered to have thousands of pounds loaded in the rear garage, behind the axles, which helps to counter all of that weight, just like a giant seesaw.
It’s also not designed to travel with full water tanks. As you can see, without our car in the garage and the tanks filled, the balance is thrown off quite a bit and we risk damaging our equipment.
This is a perfect example of the importance of knowing your axle and pin weights and it’s why we rarely travel long distances without first emptying our tanks and loading up the car.
