May Long Weekend, a weekend of neighbors, connection, and community.
Typically, "May Long" is about opening up the cabin, cleaning up the yard, re-connecting with "seasonal friends and neighbours," catching up and sharing stories. Our small recreational community buzzes with activity. Last year's unfinished projects (there is always a project!) are being discussed, the smell of fresh cut grass is in the air, the sound of power tools heard throughout the day while chatter around the campfire is heard long into the night.
Troublesome alders removed, firewood relocated, a new deck constructed. Busy, rewarding, connection. And a lot of talk about plants. What to plant, where to plant, who needs plants, how to re-plant. Personally, I know very little about growing. What I do know is that if you received a Christmas Card from me last year, when planted, it should grow flowers.
In keeping with my "paperless office" practice, I sent out Seed Paper Holiday Cards this past December, and it's now time to plant them 😀 I hope they yield something beautiful for you ❤️
