You’ve seen me over the years set out to accomplish several goals and I’ve attained them! This one is very, very important to me. I’m not a distance runner and I want to help encourage others to go after things that they’re not necessarily good at or great at. Michael’s Amplife® Story:
“On a beautiful sunday, I hopped in the saddle and took myself on a nice ride on my Honda CBR. I approached an intersection and was going to collide with a car. While trying to avoid the collision, I struck a pole. The pole broke my right foot and traumatically amputated my left leg below the knee. I was riding with my friends, angels on earth, they came to my aid, placed a tourniquet on me, and saved my life. I spent the following month recovering in the hospital.
When released, I spent almost a year in physical therapy and was able to return to serve my community full duty as a police officer. In 2015 and 2016, I competed as a para athlete in track and field. I attained many medals in hopes of making Team USA. I was unable to make the team, but I met many influential people and had wonderful memories.
I continued living life, and even after becoming an amputee, I was able to find someone who saw me for me, not my disability. On June 1, 2019 she became my wife, showing proof that there’s still love after amputation.
In 2022, I graduated from the K9 Academy and became New Jersey’s 1st Amputee K9 Officer. A lifelong dream and accomplishment that I hope will help open doors for the rest of our amputee community.
Wearing Amplife Clothing feels the same as lacing up my boots for duty. I can walk around with my head held high with a strong sense of pride. Several times I’ve been stopped and told how awesome and motivating I’ve been to others just by them observing my gear. I’ve been able to hear stories and tell them my story, breaking the ice for special moments to inspire each other.
I don’t know what’s next but I’m ready! When you stay ready, you never have to get ready! I want to motivate and inspire all!”

“I was born with a congenital birth defect that caused me to be missing my left foot, left hand, and four fingers on my right hand. As a child, I quickly adapted to my prosthesis and learned to write with both hands. During my high school years, I formed a skating team called VOID with my friends. I am now a skateboarding icon on my Venture Prosthetic Foot.
My positive spirit, determination, and talent make me a powerful force in both the limb loss and adaptive skate communities. I graduated from California State University Long Beach with a degree in Documentary Filmmaking, which I use to film, edit, and produce skating videos. Currently, I work for a Regional Sports & News network and have broken the mold for disabled individuals by working in the TV and film industry.
I'm a proud husband and father who continues to live out my pro skater dream by being part of a prestigious board of directors for organizations such as The Sheckler Foundation, Bridge To Skate, and Poseidon Foundation. I graduated from California State University Long Beach with a degree in Documentary Filmmaking, which I use to film, edit, and produce skating videos. Currently, I work for a Regional Sports & News network and have broken the mold for disabled individuals by working in the TV and film industry.
I'm a proud husband and father who continues to live out my pro skater dream by being part of a prestigious board of directors for organizations such as The Sheckler Foundation, Bridge To Skate, and Poseidon Foundation. “I was a 20 year federal agent when I had my motorcycle accident and became an amputee on February 7th, 2015. I love to customize Harley Davidsons and collect bikes. My buddy and I were working on a bike to put in the SEMA Show. I was on my way to his shop to finish it when I got cut off by a diesel truck with spiked lugnuts, which is what took off my leg.
After they reattached my leg that same night, my body went septic. My doctors said to squeeze their hand, cause I couldn’t talk with tubes in my mouth, if they could amputate my leg and I just kept squeezing and didn’t stop in order to give my authorization.
I spent the entire 2015 rehabilitating, and didn’t receive my prosthetic leg until December of that year. My nephew approached me and said that he wanted to train me. I told him that my lifting days are over and that training was only for young people. But I started working out with him, because I hated staying home. Then, I fell in love with fitness.
I began thinking what am I gonna do now, as an amputee. My nephew said let’s get a gym together and asked if I could help run it. I accepted and as time went on, being in the gym everyday, it helped a lot, whether you want to or not. You can sit there and say, oh, there goes another gym, or you can be a part of what they are doing, because you like it. That’s what got me into lifting. I did it, but wasn’t dedicated to the point where I am now.
As cliche as it is, never give up. Because once you give up, that’s it, it’s done. Have the attitude that you will not lose, no matter what you do, even if it’s getting up and taking a shower.”
