THIS is one of my MANY reasons why I’ve been striking and continue to with @SAG-AFTRA and #WGA , because #LaborIssues are everyone’s issues. (This was recorded on July 15, 2023.) I’ve worked on incredible productions by huge studios and THIS is the payment we get, over several months, due to streaming services and #AMPTP NOT paying us for our work, but it’s being seen internationally everyday. Do you think this seems correct or FAIR? Would YOU be okay with this? Thank you to my dear friend @andrea Rutherford332 @andrearutherford40 for suggesting I make a video about my personal experiece with this exact issue. No matter what your job is in life, we humans ALL deserve fair pay. This is another reason why protecting your identity and images/audio from #AI is so VERY important. We have to think at least 7 generations into the future how things will be affected, not just how it affects us in the modern present times. For example, starting this month #TikTok is allowing #ParamountStudios to show the FULL film of #MeanGirls in 26 posts and that means NONE of the actors, writers etc get residual pay from showing their work. ¡NADA! This isn’t just a clip or memes from the film, if so whatever. This is literally the FULL MOVIE. 🤯 WHY IS THAT OKAY??? It’s NOT. Despite this victorious milestone in history, it is important to recognize that the right to vote remained a distant reality for women of color. Latinas such as Maria Guadalupe Evangelina de Lopez, Jovita Idár, and Nina Otero-Warren inspired change and played pivotal roles in the fight for women’s suffrage.

🎉🌻August 26th marks Women’s Equality Day. It is a day dedicated to honor the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution–which expanded voting rights to women. However, at its passage, the 19th Amendment allocated voting rights only to white women, while women of color received this power decades later under the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

While we celebrate this milestone, let's also acknowledge the journey ahead. We persist in championing a feminist future that safeguards women's voting rights, bodily autonomy, and socioeconomic success.

We WILL continue to fight and work to ensure that ALL women, regardless of their background, have the resources they need to thrive.

The 1960s strike established an actor’s right to participate in the financial rewards of their work via residuals, and also established a pension & health fund.

The 1980s strike was over the issue of residuals for what was then the disruptive new media - video cassettes/VHF & pay television.

This strike is about the latest evolution of ‘new media’.

History has shown the AMPTP won’t make a deal because it’s the right thing to do, or out of ‘fair play’, but because they saw we were prepared to fight for it.

I stand in solidarity with my union, @sagaftra, and am grateful for the strength & solidarity among our Guild.

@Eris Talent Agency July 19, 2023, Wednesday🎭📣🗣️Super bummed I caught a stomach flu bug last night and couldn’t make it out this morning like I was planning to join my fellow @eristalentagency artists picketing group but super excited to see SOOOO MANY people showed up to support! 🫶🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾✊🏾✊🏿✊🏼🪧🪧🪧🪧🪧🪧 THIS is what it’s all about! ALL artists coming together to support one another in solidarity for all of us to be paid properly and for better working conditions in general. This strike is absolutely necessary for the survival of our industry as a whole. This is a major labor issue that is bigger than just the entertainment industry, it’s affecting every business field in America and across the World. I’m so happy and proud to see a talent agency like mine be so supportive and in such crucial times. Thank you to the entire #eristalentagency family and my agent @tinacontogenis for coordinating!! Super grateful! I’m of course livid with myself that I couldn’t be there in person this time but sincerely love seeing the unity of everyone and I hope there can be another group march again soon!
