@Mucho Burrito is bringing back, for a limited time only, their Ghost Pepper burrito! If you don’t know about ghost peppers - one of the hottest chili peppers in the world averaging 1 million Scoville Heat Units (SHU) compared to jalapenos with around 8000 (SHU).
The burrito is available in two spice levels, Wimpy and Hotter Than Hell. I decided to challenge my family and myself to see if we could handle it.
Outside of the straight up spice, I really like the unique mix of ingredients in the burrito. This includes the sundried tomato tortilla, ghost pepper fig marmalade, ghost pepper bacon and if you get the Hotter Than Hell - the extra 🔥🔥 ghost pepper sauce.
The Ghost Pepper Burrito is available in-restaurant across Canada and also online at muchoburrito.com, or through SkipTheDishes, Uber Eats and DoorDash.

The mazemen is one of the most unique vegetarian ramen offerings in the city, definitely a sleeper hit - brothless and with eggplant pepperoncini! @Uber

My fam’s go to since ‘04 is innovating 🔥 @BRAR’S Restaurant
My dad and I’s all time favourite Punjabi sweet is decadent milk cake, a fudgey and decadent treat. Brar’s has just launched three brand new flavours of milk cake - chocolate, strawberry and mocha. Chocolate is the only one you may find elsewhere.
If you drop into any of their locations (all around the GTA), they will be happy to give you a generous sample of any/all of the above! This is a great time to go because we’re entering Diwali season, where we all consume way too many Indian sweets (in Hindi called “mithai”).
They have many other Indian and Bengali mithai as well. Some favourites include pistachio punch, anjeer katli and kalakand.

#UberEatsPartner Trying to answer the Toronto shawarma debate with the help of Uber Eats.
Shawarma is a go-to food for people in the GTA, and we seem to love eating it in bowls with lots of garlic sauce. The question always is - rice or fries?
@Habibz Corner is brand new downtown and from 10/15 to 10/31, you can buy one get one free chicken platter, shawarma poutine, red velvet cheesecake, sweet chili chicken platter and wings, only on #UberEats . Order now (link in bio)!
It’s a tough call between rice and fries but our favourite might just be the shawarma poutine - curds and gravy are always a welcome addition! @Uber

Instead of calling me a cheap Indian, take a minute to read below ⬇️
I follow every arbitrary social convention around tipping e.g. 15% tip basically every time I dine in. Supporting and highlighting non-tipping establishments is a first attempt to affect change without impacting those who currently rely on tips for a significant % of their income. There will be a future miniseries where I dive into why I feel this way about tipping in much greater detail. Please hit the follow button so you don’t miss it, and all the other spots I will be covering.
@odd duck | wine & provisions reached out to me after seeing one of my previous non-tipping highlights, and I’m so glad we made the trip out. NOTE: They comped $50 of our total bill, and we paid the rest ourselves. I interviewed/chatted with two of the owners and then semi-privately with one of the servers.
Hands down one of the most collaborative, inclusive and straight up happy restaurant environments I have ever been in, with exceptional service. And it’s no accident, culinary director Jon Rennie, front of house extraordinaire and sommelier Wes Klassen, and the rest of the team, have been intentional every step of the way. Even beyond their walls, they support local producers and anybody doing good things with a conscience.
In terms of food, the menu changes constantly according to seasonality and the wines they’re into. Yep, the wines guide the food here and it makes a lot of sense - there’s ultimately a finite number of bottles in the world but there are no bounds when creating a dish to pair with a chosen wine. Additionally, every staff member collaborates on the menu, which contributed to some Lake Inez vibes - two of the most inimitable, memorable restaurant experiences that exist in Ontario.
Thanks Odd Duck team for who you are and what you do, so much love for you.
