I found BTS when I was on bed rest dealing with a flare up with my chronic illnesses. I’m disabled with several diagnoses including fibromyalgia and a late diagnosis of both autism and ADHD, as well as CPTSD. BTS quickly became not only my special interest, but my escape and a source of encouragement. Before them, I was in my early 20s, ready to take a step back from being a full on fangirl and try to “grow up” as people say, trying to find other special interests that were more “age appropriate.” But when I found them, I didn’t feel the need to do that. Because if it’s something or someone who brings you happiness, who the hell cares? Fandom isn’t an age limited thing and BTS have been musicians I feel seen and heard by and their messages, what they stand for, have deeply impacted me, helping me when I’ve needed to make my own decisions in life.
Seeing Yet To Come in Cinema was so bitter sweet because I am so proud of them and I can’t wait until the future, but I also know it’s saying to goodbye to what we’ve grown accustomed to know. I trust them and I can’t wait to see what’s next in chapter 2 and in 2025, but I’m still dealing with saying goodbye to the familiar and preparing for change. Seeing this final concert for this chapter in their career was beautiful and moving and I’m so thankful they’re in my life.

I won’t lie; 2022 was really difficult. I had a lot of battles with my health which made it difficult and painful, but I got through it thanks to special moments with special people 💜
