We unite and advocate for those with allergies, asthma and related conditions 🌟

Today is #AERDAwarenessDay. Aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD), also known as Samter’s Triad, affects about 1.2 million to 1.6 million in the United States. AERD is a chronic medical condition that consists of three conditions: 🫁 asthma 🤧 recurrent nasal polyps (soft, teardrop-shaped, painless growths in the lining of the nasal passages and sinuses) 💊 sensitivity to aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) AERD is a very complex disease – symptoms do not often respond to conventional treatments and many patients also experience chronic sinus infections and a loss of sense of smell. It develops in adulthood, usually between the ages of 20 and 50, and there is no clearly recognized trigger. The goal of AERD Awareness Day is to encourage patients and doctors to stay vigilant in identifying and managing the disease. We have created unique and informative infographics to help you understand symptoms, treatments, and what to avoid giving someone with AERD. Learn more about AERD at our website. 🖥️ #AERD #Asthma #WorldAERDDay #NasalPolyps #Aspirin
