Bearing in a toaster oven. Keep the bearing at ~275 and it slides on by hand. I do this on industrial machines regularly, no issues

I used to take the race of the old bearing, heat it, set the new bearing on it for a few seconds then it slides right on.

yep. good old deep fryer filled with clean motor oil with stop finish scorch and the hardened surface flaking

To each their own... but I’ve done some axle bearings on tractors that you WILL NOT get seated unless they’re heated. There is too hot I will agree.
